About Us

JOBADE ACADEMY is a wonderful school, but also one committed to being at the forefront of educational progress in the twenty-first century. Ours is a modern, forward-thinking school which embraces new opportunities within teaching and learning. We welcome talented pupils, whatever their background and can offer discounts as dim fit by the management. If you’re considering sending your children here please do come and visit and experience JOBADE ACADEMY for yourselves. The focus of our activity is academic work. The broad curriculum, complemented by an extensive sporting, musical, artistic and dramatic co-curriculum, encourages individuals to maximise their potential. Stimulated and challenged by the JOBADE ACADEMY experience, our pupils more frequently exceed expectations than match them. The emphasis on individual achievement has its counterpoint in our encouragement of teamwork, co-operation and service to others. We believe it is important for our pupils to have a firm commitment to deep-rooted values, and to be flexible, pragmatic and open to new ideas. We seek to be inclusive, supporting all Christians, respecting members of other faiths and promoting responsible and active citizenship. We aim to build self-discipline, self-confidence, and to develop communication and leadership skills in our pupils who emerge as lively, articulate young adults ready to contribute widely to the global community.
JOBADE ACADEMY strives to be the leading independent co-educational day school of its scale and type in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and seeks to develop happy, balanced individuals who will achieve personal fulfilment at university, at work and in society at large.
At JOBADE ACADEMY there is a wealth of opportunity for our pupils. There are the academic challenges posed by a rigorous programme of study and there is a vast range of co-curricular activities available to all. However, life itself can generate challenges of its own, particularly in the process of development from adolescence to adult. There are many ways of enabling this transition so that it can be as enjoyable as possible and solid structures are in place at JOBADE ACADEMY that aim to do just that. JOBADE ACADEMY has a system of rewards and sanctions, recognising positive contributions to the community and signalling what we deem to be unacceptable. Above this clear foundation, there are many layers of guidance available, as pupils develop skills relating to working with others, enjoying positive relationships, taking responsibility and showing leadership. A network of support is in place to ensure that every pupil is shown the ultimate duty of care. Pupils are encouraged to take responsibility for others, and new pupils always appreciate the warm welcome they receive at JOBADE ACADEMY.
At JOBADE ACADEMY we go beyond the statutory responsibility to our pupils, ensuring that over the course of their time at the School pupils take part in a well-rounded and comprehensive programme which supports their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. Through a series of assemblies, workshops and tutorials, we challenge preconceptions and stigma, build resilience and most importantly we provide the information and the toolkit to enable pupils to choose to live a happy and healthy life. The content of pupils’ personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education falls broadly under three themes: Health and Wellbeing, Relationships and Living in the Wider World. The programme is delivered by a combination of expert speakers, as well as being reinforced during lessons, sports and activities. Pupils are encouraged to continue discussions prompted by the PSHE programme outside of the formal sessions. This can include conversation and debate with their teachers and peers in School, but also with their family and friends outside of School.
